I'm New Here
you are
Welcome
“Do not let your hearts be troubled. In my Father’s house there are many dwelling places. I am going to prepare a place for you. I will come back again and take you to myself, so that where I am you also may be.” (John 14:1a, 2a, 3b)
This was the promise Jesus made in the Upper Room at the Last Supper with His friends. It is also the promise He makes to each of us in our own time and place. God wants to be with us. He prepares a place for us to be together with Him and with each other. It is as simple and as lovely as that.
The Church of Christ the King is one of those “Upper Room” dwelling places God has prepared for us. It is here that we find our King in Scripture, Liturgy and Sacraments. It is here that we recognize Jesus in our brothers and sisters. It is here where we are formed in His image and likeness and nourished and sent on Mission to be a light in the world and the salt of the earth.
God knows that we all long for that place where we belong. Especially in a world full of chaos and discord and strife, we want to rest in that safe, holy and welcoming place. Ours is a diverse community, and we are enriched by that diversity. We are delighted that you are finding your home here at Christ the King too. Welcome to this dwelling place. Make yourself at home!
