Music ministries at Christ the King exist to enhance the sung prayer of the assembly as well as adding various instruments and vocal harmonies. The goal of everyone involved is to create, full, active and conscious participation of the assembly while raising our hearts, minds and voices to God.
Adult Choir- This group, ages high school and above, sings at the 10am Mass 2-3 Sundays a month and rehearses on Wednesday evenings at 7:00pm in church and they also participate in Holy Days and Holidays as needed.
Children’s Choir- Grades 2-5 sings on the 1st Sunday of the month and rehearses 2 Sundays a month following the 10am Mass.
Resurrection Choir- This group of dedicated singers need to be available on short notice, usually 2-3 days. They sing at funerals or memorial services that take place at Christ the King.
Cantors- These singers invite the assembly to join in the singing and lead the responsorial psalm and gospel acclamation. Cantors are generally recruited from one of the choirs. Except for those in the children’s choir, rehearsals are following the adult choir rehearsals on Wednesday evenings. Children meet with the director one on one.
Instrumentalists- Anyone who is competent on their instrument and has had at minimum 3 years experience is welcome to audition.
